I think vegan is great and all. But I eat only humanely raised animals. I get farm fresh everything from local farms. All grass fed animals and wide ranges for them to grow up on. It’s not all like this. Yes we need to change how we get 90% of our meat. There are other options than what’s in the pictures above. Before we start saying everyone needs to go vegan maybe we should push for grass fed, fresh, locally made food.

We should always strive to do things less horribly.
Bullies to bully others less horribly, police to engage in police brutality less horribly, abusive husbands to beat wives less horribly, slave owners to treat slaves less horribly. Of course - anything is better when it’s done less horribly.
Doesn’t mean it’s not horrible.
Slaughter will never be not horrible. Exploitation of any kind will never be not horrible.
Stop looking for the right way to do the wrong thing.

Well said :’)

You do you, be a vegan, but don’t force that shit onto other people. I’m not saying you’re wrong in what you’re pursuing veganism for, I’m just saying don’t force your own values, beliefs or opinions onto other people.

But we force many things on many people. We try our best to force as many people as possible not to murder, rape or otherwise harm others. Do you accuse these people of forcing their values, beliefs and opinions on you? Remember, your rights end where the rights of another begin.

And you do realize you are forcing your beliefs on the animals, right?? You’re telling all the cows, chickens, pigs, and whoever else you eat: “My desire for palate pleasure is more important than your entire life! I want bacon and therefore you deserve to die!” Check your hypocrisy.

Veganism is not about vegans. Vegans are people with all sorts of good and bad points. But that says nothing about veganism. Vegans are often the messengers of veganism, but don’t confuse the two. Veganism is the understanding that animals value their own lives and bodies, that animals have an interest in continuing their existence and avoiding suffering and that animals have the right to be treated with respect and justice and not to be treated as property. The logic of veganism stands independent of any individual vegan person.
